Description

The bridge over the lake in the grounds of Brockhampton Park dates from the late 19th century. It features limestone piers that support a timber framework. On each side of the bridge, there are nine stone steps leading up to it, flanked by curving walls that rise to a pair of circular stone piers topped with moulded cappings. These cappings have large ball finials that are supported on brackets. Below the cappings, there are three carved lions' heads adorned with foliate and ribbon decoration. Additionally, there are two further pairs of matching piers spanning the bridge.
