Front Lodge to Batsford Park and Arch at Rear, Batsford Village

The Front Lodge to Batsford Park and the arch at the rear, located in Batsford Village, is a lodge and attached arch built in the late 19th century. It was designed by Sir Ernest George and Peto for Lord Redesdale. The structure features coursed squared and dressed limestone set on a rock-faced limestone plinth, topped with a limestone slate roof. The building has a T-shaped plan, with one storey at the front and two storeys at the rear.

The front façade includes a single window, which is a two-light stone-mullioned casement without glazing bars and has a stopped hood above it. There is a gabled porch, positioned off centre to the right, that features a Tudor arch within a flat-chamfered surround. The porch contains a six-panel door in a plain flush opening. The roof is adorned with roll-moulded gable coping, a moulded eaves cornice, and kneelers. The left gable end has a projecting stack with a twin flue and a Tudor arched niche at its base. Additionally, there is a Tudor arch in a rock-faced limestone surround with a flat coped gable attached to the rear left corner of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
