Description
BATSFORD BATSFORD VILLAGE SP 13 SE 4/8 Front Lodge to Batsford Park and arch at rear, Batsford Estate GV II Lodge and attached arch. Late C19. By Sir Ernest George and Peto for Lord Redesdale. Coursed squared and dressed limestone on rock- faced limestone plinth. Limestone slate roof. Limestone gable coping and eaves cornice. T-shaped plan. One storey at front. 2 at rear. One windowed: 2-light stone-mullioned casement without glazing bars. Stopped hood. Gabled porch with kneelers off centre right with Tudor arch in flat-chamfered surround. 6-panel door in plain flush opening within. Roof with roll-moulded gable coping, moulded eaves cornice and kneelers. Projecting left gable end stack with twin flue stack. Tudor arched niche at base of stack. Tudor arch in rock-faced limestone surround with flat coped gable attached to rear left corner of building. Interior not inspected.
