Description

Audley Cottage is a lodge, likely associated with Audley Park Gardens, built between 1840 and 1850 with 20th-century additions. It features limestone ashlar construction and a lead roof with paired moulded stacks at the rear. The building has a long four-unit plan, with a wider central block and 20th-century extensions at the back.

The exterior is single-storey with no windows on the entrance front at the north end and two windows on the left return of the main block, totaling four windows overall. The north entrance front includes a shallow open-pedimented loggia with a segmental arch that rises from the cornice. This arch is supported by plain square section columns, with vertical pierced slots in a stone balustrade flanking the arch and extending to the returns of the loggia. The entrance features a half-glazed four-panel bolection-moulded door set in a plain opening. Above, the cornice and square lintel band continue under a blocking course over a tripartite six/six-pane sash window to the left, which faces Badminton Gardens.

The slightly taller and wider central block has a coped parapet, a cornice band, and a wide horned six/six-pane sash window. To the left of this central block, there is a 20th-century porch and door, alongside a two/two-pane sash window and further 20th-century additions at the far left (rear). The interior has not been inspected.
