Description

The Bromley memorial in St Michael's Cemetery is a memorial built around 1869. It is made of pennant stone ashlar and features a stepped base with a tapered pylon-shaped shaft. The shaft has a fielded inscription panel that includes a relief of a drooping cut rose, symbolizing the end of a sweet and brief life. At the top, there is a large dentil cornice, which is crowned by a domed finial decorated with foliage. This memorial honors the Rev. James Bromley, who was the Minister of Quiet Street Chapel and passed away in 1869.
