Description
Devon House is a detached house divided into two occupations, built in the mid-19th century. It features coursed squared and dressed limestone with an ashlar facade and a stone slate roof, along with ashlar stacks. The building has a basic 'T'-shaped plan with later extensions at the rear, which include a slate-roofed and flat-roofed extension that is not of special interest.
The main part of the house is two storeys high, with a gable that projects forward on the left side. The right-hand return of the gable is lit by two sash windows. The front of the house has three windows, all of which are 12-pane sashes with keystones. The front door, which is a six-panel design from the 19th century (with the upper two panels glazed), is located to the right of the projecting gable and is set within a semi-circular headed surround that includes a fanlight. A semi-circular hood with a moulded margin is above the door. There are also two 4-pane sashes with horns on either side of the window. The house features gable-end and axial stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
