Description
Coalyard Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with an ashlar facade and features a slate roof. The main body of the building has an almost square plan with a small extension at the rear. The facade is symmetrical, three stories high, and has three windows. It is accented by rusticated quoins. The ground and first floors have twelve-pane sash windows, while the second floor has sixteen-pane sash windows. All the windows are set within beaded plain architraves that include a dropped keystone. The central door, which is a 20th-century plank door, is framed by a round-headed surround with a keystone and a fanlight above. A pointed stone hood with a moulded margin is supported by moulded brackets. The roof is hipped with gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
