Description
Lane House is a house located at the end of a row, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, with an artificial stone slate roof on the front pitch and concrete tiles at the rear. There is also an artificial slate roof on the lean-to extension at the back. The building has a rectangular plan with the lean-to at the rear and stands two storeys tall with an attic, which is lit by a 20th-century raking dormer at the back.
The facade features two windows, including a sixteen-pane sash window on the first floor and two smaller sixteen-pane sashes above. To the right, there is a 19th-century six-panel door with a rectangular hall-light above it. All windows and the doorway are set within dressed stone surrounds. The gable ends have flat coping, and there are stacks at the gable ends. The interior has not been inspected.
