Description
14 and 16 The Street are two adjoining houses, likely originally one large detached house with an additional bay added. They date from the early to mid-18th century and are constructed of roughcast faced rubble stone with alternating flush quoins. The houses feature stone end and ridge stacks, with the ridge stack indicating the division between the two. The building is a single range of two storeys and an attic, with a small rear wing attached to No 14. Each house has three windows, which are 3-light wood mullion and transoms, likely from the 19th century, on both floors. No 14, on the right, has a recessed plank door located to the left of the end window bay. No 16 has a central plank door with a possibly 20th-century gabled timber porch. Above the blank wall section, there is a "Bath Sun Fire" insurance plaque, and above that is a single gabled dormer featuring paired 8-pane casements.
