Description
Whitehouse Farmhouse is a small farmhouse dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It has a roughcast front and right-hand side, built on a rubble stone base, and features a stone slate roof. The central ridge stack is made of ashlar and has a moulded cornice, with stone and concrete stacks at the ends. The building consists of a double range, likely originally a single front range of two storeys and an attic, with a slightly later two-storey rear range that is attached to outbuildings at the back.
The front elevation has three windows on the first floor, which are 12-pane sash windows set in cemented reveals, and there is one additional window on the right-hand return. On the ground floor, there is a central six-panel door framed by a plain stone architrave, accessed by one curved stone step. The top two panels of the door are glazed, the central two are fielded, and the lower two are flush. To the right, there is a blind wall, and to the left, there is a small extension, likely from the 19th century, which features a triple sash window. There is also a blocked doorway on the left-hand return.
