Description
The Old Rectory is a detached house located on the north side of The Street in Didmarton. It dates from the early 19th century and features a roughcast exterior with a stone slate roof and stone end stacks. The building has a single main range with a later rear extension and stands two storeys tall.
The front facade includes three windows, which are 6-pane sashes set within painted plain stone architraves. On the ground floor, there are shallow canted bays on each side, each containing 2/6/2-pane sashes and topped with a shallow moulded cornice. The central entrance features a slightly projecting reeded stone porch with a panelled hood and moulded cornice. The porch has a semi-circular soffit with a radial fanlight above a 6-panel door, which has four fielded panels at the top and two flush panels at the bottom. Access to the door is via two stone steps.
