Description
Ivy Cottage is a mid-19th century cottage located in Little Barrington Village. It is one of a pair of contemporary cottages. The building is constructed of coursed roughly squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular plan with a single-bay extension on the left gable end and a flat-roofed 20th-century extension at the rear, which is not of special interest. The cottage stands two storeys high and features three 2-light 19th-century casement windows, two of which are set within segmental-headed surrounds on the ground floor, including the lean-to extension. The first floor has two similar casements with timber lintels. The main entrance is through a 20th-century part-glazed door with glazing bars, located off-centre to the right, and there is a similar doorway to the extension. A gable-end stack is present. The interior has not been inspected.
