Description

BARRINGTON THE GREEN SP 2012-2112 Little Barrington Village 11/106 Ivy Cottage (formerly listed as the cottage 26.1.61 occupied by Mrs Witchell) GV II One of a pair of contemporary cottages (q.v. Lowicks). Mid C19. Coursed roughly squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof. Rectangular plan with a single-bay extension to the left gable end. Flat-roofed C20 extension at the rear, not of special interest. Two storeys. Three 2-light C19 casements, two within segmental- headed surrounds to the ground floor (including the lean-to extension). Two similar casements with timber lintels to the first floor. C20 part-glazed door with glazing bars off-centre right to the main body. Similar doorway to the extension. Gable-end stack. Interior not inspected.
