Description
Cotswold House Hotel is a Regency house built around 1810-1820, featuring a good set-back design with three bays. The exterior is made of ashlar stone, with the ground floor having a channelled finish. It includes floor bands, a cornice, and a parapet that has a central break and an inset panel. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with chimneys at both ends. The windows are glazing bar sash types set in panels, while the ground floor windows are tripartite. A central Tuscan portico leads to a half-glazed door flanked by sidelights and a traceried over-light, supported by fluted pilaster-strips and a lintel. At the rear, there is a centred extension and a ground floor loggia that is glazed and arcaded. Inside, the hotel features a hall arch with a Venetian arch motif and a circular stair with a cast-iron balustrade.
