Description

This building is an open-fronted store and stables with lofts, located approximately 5 meters south of Sherborne Farm. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The structure is single-storey with coursed squared and dressed limestone and a stone slate roof. It has a long rectangular plan, featuring stables arranged in a courtyard at the south gable end and an open-fronted store at the north end.

The ground floor has four open bays separated by stone-built square piers on stone-built plinths. There are two stone-mullioned casements on the first floor and a double-width opening with a timber lintel to the left. Stone steps with brick treads lead up the gable end. To the left, the stables have an extension that runs forward, featuring a plank pitching door. There is also a plank door at the ground floor of the main body, and a two-light stone-mullioned casement to the right and on the first floor. Steps lead up to a plank door on the right. The single-storey stables are located to the left. The gable ends of the open-fronted store and stables have flat coping, characteristic of the late 18th to early 19th century. The interiors have not been inspected. This property is owned by the National Trust.
