Description
The Herbert memorial is a chest tomb located 2 meters northwest of the Butt memorial in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary. It commemorates Ann Herbert, who died in 1769, though the last digit of the year is unclear. The tomb is made of limestone and has a rectangular shape with indented corners. It features a tall moulded plinth at the base and a moulded capping. The end panels have a fluted frieze and reliefs on the returns, which are nearly worn away. All sides have fielded rectangular panels, with an inscription on the north side. The large rectangular cap has separate moulded end pieces on the east and west sides, topped with a gadrooned rectangular finial.
