SP 13 SW 3/59 BLOCKLEY SPRINGHILL ESTATE No 4 Jockey Stable Cottages (Gatehouse)

GV II

Circa 1844. Two storey range of jockey quarters. Coursed and dressed rubble; slate roof with coped verges and brick chimneys. Three windows, segment-headed casements, irregular and part blocked on ground floor. Blocked doorway to left of centre; now entered from gable end. Lower L-plan extension to south-west with wide elliptical- headed entry, now glazed with date 1844 in keystone and armorial shield over, flanking doors, one now a window. Enclosed yard with 8 ft walls ramped down to ashlar gate piers on north-west side.
