Description
The Aristocrat, formerly known as the Horse and Jockey Public House, features 19th century alterations to an earlier 17th or 18th century building. It is constructed of stucco with an old tiled roof and consists of one storey and attics. The building has a central small gable with a two-light casement window, flanked by two canted oriel casement bays that have sash windows with 19th century glazing bars, supported by pairs of brackets. The central entrance door is half glazed and has a cornice hood on brackets. The west side displays ornamental 19th century bargeboards. To the left, there is a two-storey wing with a Welsh slate roof and a sash window featuring glazing bars. At the rear, there are modern single-storey wings, with cornices and dentil detailing on the back elevation.
