Description
This description pertains to a pair of unidentified chest tombs located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael, approximately 8 meters south of the chancel. The left-hand tomb features the initials W.H and the date 1777 at the east end, while the right-hand tomb has the initials H.H and the date 1787 at the east end.
The north side of the left tomb includes what appears to be an unused inscription tablet, flanked by uprights adorned with cherub and rosette motifs. The south side is similar, but the upright with a flower motif on the right-hand margin is missing. The west end showcases a winged cherub with a foliate motif below, flanked by quarter balusters. The east end has similar quarter balusters that flank an inset inscription.
The right-hand tomb mirrors the left in design but features a partially legible inscription on the north side, flanked by uprights with cherub faces and scroll motifs. The west end of this tomb also depicts a winged cherub.
