Description

Rose Cottage is a detached house dating from the 17th century, situated in Chedworth village. The house is constructed from limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins, and has a concrete tile roof. A brick and stone chimney stack rises from the property. The building has a long, rectangular plan.

The front of the house features a three-light wooden window with an ovolo moulding and hood to the right of a projecting, 20th-century gabled porch. A blocked window with large dressed stone jambs is situated to the left of the porch, and a 19th-century raking eaves dormer is visible on the first floor.

The north-west front displays a four-light casement window with wooden mullions, a blocked window with dressed stone jambs and a timber lintel to its right, a 19th-century two-light casement to the far left, and a three-light ovolo-moulded casement to a small gablet. The gable end facing the road exhibits a two- and three-light stone-mullioned casement. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
