Description
Peach Tree Cottage and Studio is a detached house dating from the late 17th century, with a 19th-century wash house extension. It is constructed from thinly-bedded, roughly squared and dressed limestone, featuring dressed stone quoins. The main body of the house has a stone slate roof, while the wash house has a slate roof as well. There are brick stacks with dressed stone quoins that were restored in the 20th century. The building has a rectangular plan, with the wash house extension located at the left gable end.
The house is two storeys high with an attic, and the wash house is single-storey. The symmetrical facade has two windows, which are lit by 2 and 3-light double-chamfered stone mullioned casements with stopped hoods. There is a central dormer with a slate-hung roof featuring a 2-light window. The entrance is a central 19th-century six-panelled door, of which the two upper panels are now glazed, and it has a concrete lintel. There is a single-light window in the attic at the right gable end, and the wash house has two 2-light wooden casements. The house features gable-end and off-the-ridge stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
