Description
Witt's Cottage is a small detached house located on The Green in Bibury, dating from the mid-18th century, with a 20th-century addition. It is constructed of random and coursed rubble limestone, featuring a brick rebuilt chimney and a stone slate roof. The building is single-storey with an attic and has a simple rectangular shape, with an outshut on the northeast side. The windows are scattered, including 2-light casements with flat hoodmoulds on the southwest side and in the southeast gable end. There is an off-centre doorway with a 20th-century gabled porch at the northwest end, and a gable-mounted chimney above. The 20th-century rear outshut includes a gabled dormer with stone slate cheeks. The interior has not been inspected. This very small house plays an important role in the group of buildings on The Green.
