Description

Weavers Cottage is a 17th-century house located on The Green in Great Milton. It is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble with timber lintels, and has a thatched roof with brick stacks. The house follows a three-or four-unit lobby-entry plan and has one storey plus attics. The front elevation features a central doorway and irregular window placement, including three small dormers. All windows currently have 20th-century leaded casements. A projecting stone chimney is visible on the left gable wall, with additional stacks on the right gable and in the rear roof slope, aligned with the entrance. The interior remains uninspected. A cast-iron pump is attached to the front wall. The cottage forms one end of a picturesque row of buildings facing The Green and is likely the oldest part of the group.
