Description
Nos. 3 and 4 Priory Bank are cottages dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. They are built from coursed limestone rubble and feature a thatched roof with brick stacks. The cottages have a two-unit plan and are one storey high with attics.
The front of No. 3 includes a plank door and a two-light casement window, both positioned to the right, along with an attached pump to the left and a three-light leaded dormer above. No. 4 has a similar arrangement with a plank door and a two-light casement window to the right and another similar casement to the left, along with two 20th-century dormers.
The ground floor openings were modified when Nos. 3 to 6 were given uniform brick quoins and segmental arches, likely in the early 19th century. All casements are fitted with plank shutters, and there are straight joints between most units. The interiors have not been inspected. These cottages are part of a picturesque row of buildings.
