Description

Pegglesworth Home Farm is a detached house with origins in the 17th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof. The house has an 'L'-shaped plan, with a wing extending back to the rear right, forming the left side of the yard. A 20th-century range is at the rear, while the 17th-century block runs forward on the right side, accompanied by a single-storey 19th-century extension at the gable end.

The facade is symmetrical, with two storeys and an attic that is illuminated by full Cotswold dormers. The windows are arranged in a 1:1:1 pattern and consist of 2 and 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, all with continuous hoodmoulds. A central 20th-century porch projects from the front and is 2½ storeys high, featuring 2-light stone-mullioned windows, some of which are reused. The entrance includes a studded plank door set within a moulded 'Tudor'-arched surround, adorned with carved foliate spandrels. The hoodmould above the door is stepped and features carvings of large four-petalled flowers on either side.

The 17th-century block on the right side of the courtyard is lit by stone-mullioned windows. There is a wide flat-chamfered 'Tudor'-arched doorway with a plank door, and a 20th-century part-glazed door is located up three steps towards the rear of the yard. The house has a projecting stack from the left gable end, along with axial and lateral stacks, all topped with moulded cappings. The gable-end coping is slightly stepped and features roll saddles. The interior has not been inspected.
