Description

Whitehorne is an early to mid-19th century villa, with a later 20th-century addition to the right. The main part of the villa is stuccoed with a renewed tile roof, while the addition is brick with slate coverings. The main range has three storeys and three windows on the first floor. A projecting two-storey porch features a six-panel door with side-lights, a brattished cornice, and a pointed-arched overlight. The ground floor has a bay window to the left with a single sash window and, to the right, a tripartite sash window with 6/6 glazing between 1/1 sashes. The first floor has two tripartite windows with 6/6 glazing between 1/1 sashes, and a small triangular oriel above the central porch. The attics have 3/3 sash windows in the gables. Side chimneys have cornices. The rear of the villa retains much of its early 19th-century character including tripartite sash windows with glazing bars. The later addition to the right has casement windows. The interior was not inspected.
