Description

The Rookery is a detached house, originally three cottages, dating to the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with an artificial stone slate roof and stone stacks. The main rectangular section of the house has been extended to the rear and to the left. A 20th-century porch is positioned off-centre to the right, and a 20th-century lean-to adjoins the right gable end. The house has one and a half storeys. The ground floor incorporates two-light stone mullioned windows, while the upper floor is lit by two two-light stone mullioned half dormers and a single light with a stone surround. An opening for a double garage is located far to the left, featuring two-light stone mullioned windows. At the rear, original 17th-century double-chamfered stone mullioned casements remain. An axial stack is present. The interior has not been inspected.
