Description
This is an early 18th-century chest tomb located about 14 meters west of the tower in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary in Tetbury. Made of limestone, it features a flat top with cyma recta moulded capping, although the plinth is not visible. The east side has heavy lyre ends with carved acanthus patterns and a cherub head on a panel. Each side has recessed rectangular panels, with the north side displaying flanking skull and crossbones, while the south side features flaming torches. The west panel is almost completely worn away, and the inscriptions are indecipherable.
