Description

Brook House is a detached house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone, with an ashlar facade, and has a stone slate roof with a coved wooden cornice. Stone end stacks feature offset and moulded cornices, while a small wing to the right has a tile roof and a stone end stack. The main range is two storeys and an attic, with a two-storey wing attached to the right. The house is symmetrical, with three windows on the front elevation. These are paired 6-pane casements with stone mullions. The ground floor windows are similar and have a continuous dripmould above. A central, hipped porch, built in the 20th century, provides access from the south side, with a half-glazed door leading to the rear. Three small, hipped dormers with paired leaded casements are set into the roof.
