Description

The Old George is a public house, likely dating to the 17th century with extensions added in the 18th century. It is constructed of painted rubble stone with a stone slate roof, featuring a renewed stone end stack and a partial external stone stack with a rendered flue. The building comprises a large main two-storey section, with lower and older projecting wings to the front and right, the latter having a gable to the front. Windows are predominantly 19th-century, consisting of 3-light casements with timber lintels. A large rear wing extends from the main section and has a concrete tile roof, though the original wind-braced roof structure is visible within. The front section retains several original beams.
