Description
This large barn, located approximately 40 meters southeast of Ewen Manor, likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. On the west side, there is a large, nearly central projecting gabled cart entry, which has a timber lintel and 20th-century double timber doors. The gable also includes stepped dovecot perches arranged in a triangular layout.
Flanking the cart entry are lean-tos along the entire west side; the right side originally served as a 5-bay animal shelter supported by timber posts, while the left side has a stone-walled lean-to with a doorway next to the cart entry. The north end and the east side of the barn have slit vents. The east side features two raking projecting entries, with the right entry opposing the gabled entry on the west. The south gable has a large pitch hole and two smaller squarish openings below. Inside, the barn consists of eight bays with collar and tie beam trusses.
