Description
29 Hatherop Road is a detached house that was originally two houses in a row, dating from the early to mid-17th century, with various later alterations. The building is constructed of random rubble limestone, with brick rebuilt chimneys and roofs made of stone and artificial stone slate. It has a single storey with an attic and is designed in an L-shape.
The front features two half gables and a central dormer mounted on the eaves. The windows are a mix of styles, including two and three-light recessed cavetto mullioned casements with hoodmoulds, along with timber casements that have timber lintels. There is a central cross passage doorway with a timber lintel and a recessed six-panel door. A ground floor casement to the left seems to have been in a former door position.
At the rear, there is a wing with two east-facing half gables, which appears to have been restored in the 20th century. The main range has a catslide roof at the rear outshut, and there is a gabled rear wing at the east end. The interior has not been inspected.
