Description
25 and 26 Hatherop Road are a pair of houses dating from the mid-17th century, with 20th-century restoration. They are constructed from random rubble limestone, feature rubble chimneys, and have a stone slate roof, with a concrete tile roof at the rear. The buildings are two stories high with an attic, and there is a single-storey section at the south end of No 25.
The front has a four-window layout, with all windows previously recessed and having cavetto mullions with hoodmoulds. The ground floor has three-light windows, some of which have been replaced in the 20th century, while the upper floor has two-light windows, some of which have had their mullions removed. No 26 features a Tudor-arched doorway with a 20th-century door. There are two gabled roof dormers and three chimneys mounted on the ridge. The single-storey part of No 25 has altered casements with timber lintels. The north end has an off-centre 20th-century casement and a blocked former three-light window on the upper floor, which retains its hoodmould. At the rear, there is a lean-to structure with plank garage doors and a timber lintel at the north end. The interior has not been inspected.
