Description

Rosmundi is a row of eight houses dating from the mid-17th to the early 19th century. They are located on the east side of Main Street, Coln St Aldwyns. The houses are built of random and coursed rubble limestone, with brick and rubble chimneys and stone slate roofs. The buildings are two storeys high, with an attic to number 13. A long return wing extends to the south from number 8. The front of the row features two half-gables to number 12, one to Rosmundi, and a full gable to number 13. The windows are a mix of timber casements, most with timber lintels, though numbers 11 and 12 feature segmental arched openings. Most doorways have recessed doors with timber lintels. Various chimneys are visible along the ridges of the roofs. The return wing to the south has a variety of casement windows with timber lintels. The interiors have not been inspected. The row presents a picturesque appearance due to the accumulation of varied architectural features and plays a key role on the east side of Main Street.
