Description
The Thorpe memorial is a tall chest tomb located about 1 metre east of the northeast path, approximately 9 metres from the path crossing in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top and a moulded plinth on its base, with a cyma recta moulded capping. The ends are elaborately carved with heavy gadrooned balusters. The rectangular side panels have a central raised panel with a beaded edge, flanked by egg and dart moulded strips. The inscriptions on the memorial are nearly indecipherable.
