Description
Tudor House is a large former detached house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with large stone stacks that have offset and renewed stone flues. The building has a single front range and a rear range added in 1901, standing two storeys high with an attic.
The façade is notable for its three large gables, each featuring a 2-light stone mullion window with a square hoodmould. Below these, there are three 3-light windows and two on the ground floor, all fitted with lattice iron casements. The central entrance is a 4-centred arched doorway with moulded and stopped jambs, a square hoodmould, and a 20th-century plank door, flanked by two small lattice lights that were also inserted in the 20th century. Although the interior is not accessible, it is reputed to contain a fine 17th-century fireplace.
