Description
The barn at Rapsgate Park is an 18th-century structure built from random rubble limestone, featuring dressed stone quoins and doorway jambs. It has timber barn door lintels and a stone slate roof. The barn consists of five bays, with barn doors located on the central bay. Lapped timber boarding is present over the barn door lintels, and there are ventilation slits in the wall of each bay, some of which are blocked. At the upper end, there are two ventilation slits on either side of a high-level doorway with a timber lintel. A blocked doorway is located at the lower end facing into the yard. The interior includes tie-beam and collar trusses along with two tiers of purlins. The barn is situated in the corner of the yard, adjacent to cart sheds and other buildings that are not of special interest.
