Description
14 and 20 Coxwell Street is a house that has been divided into two dwellings, dating from the mid-17th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof with a rebuilt brick stack at the right end. It has four gables facing the street and a central through passage. The structure is two storeys high with an attic and has a seven-window range.
On the first floor, there are seven 2-light timber casements set in moulded stone surrounds, and four similar windows with dripstones in the gables above. The ground floor features five 6/6-pane sash windows also in moulded stone surrounds, along with a 4-panel door with an overlight, which has been cut down from a former window opening to the right. There are also a pair of plank doors leading to the central through passage. The building has a shallow plinth and moulded strings above the ground and first floors. The interiors have not been inspected.
