Description

This is a late 17th-century house, now divided into two dwellings at numbers 22 and 30 Coxwell Street, Cirencester. The house is constructed of coursed squared limestone, with patches of cement render, and has a stone slate roof. A rebuilt brick stack is located in the flank of the left gable, while a stone stack is at the rear and a rebuilt brick stack is at the end of the rear wing of number 30. The front of the building features three gables and originally had a five-window range. The first floor has five two-light timber casements with concrete sills. Above, similar two- and three-light casements are located in the gables. A single two-light timber casement is present on the ground floor to the left of number 30, while six-pane sashes are found in the centre and right of number 22. A plank door with a modern glazing panel is at the left of number 30, and a modern hardwood door with overlight is on the right of number 22. A shallow stone plinth runs along the base of the building. Number 30 has a large rear wing constructed of limestone rubble with a stone slate roof, incorporating a gabled dormer on each side. Number 22 features smaller two-storey and 20th-century single-storey extensions. The interiors have not been inspected.
