Description
The gate pier and wall to the southwest of The Grange (numbers 1 and 2) and Grange Wing were built in 1838 and are constructed from ashlar stone. The pier features a chamfered plinth, a shaft adorned with cusped decoration, a chamfered band, a band with trefoils set in roundels, and a stepped pyramidal cap. The wall, which is approximately 27 meters long and 1.75 meters high, includes a plinth and chamfered copings. This structure plays an important role in the overall setting of The Grange.
