Description

Three terraced houses, numbers 6, 7, and 8, now used as offices and a house, were built around 1834 to 1850. The houses are constructed with stucco over brick, and have a concealed roof, brick end and party-wall stacks, and iron area railings.

The exterior features rustication around the entrances and voussoirs to the heads of the ground-floor windows. There is a first-floor band surmounted by Doric pilasters supporting a crowning entablature and blocking course with copings. The first floor has 6/6 sash windows. The ground floor has 6/6 sashes with margin-lights and 8/8 sashes where original. The basement windows are 4/8 and 6/6 sashes. Flights of six renewed steps lead to a 6-panel door with a radial fanlight on the left, and a 4-panel door with an overlight and margin-lights on the right.

The interiors are noted to retain original joinery with fluted architraves and fleurons, though the extent of the original fabric is otherwise uninspected.

The attached area railings feature arrowhead designs with anthemions to the stanchions. The tent porch to number 8 has a double scroll motif to the uprights and an openwork frieze. The railings are paired with the neighbouring property at number 5. The houses are described as "modest, well-proportioned" in historical records.
