Description

Bayshill Unitarian Church is a church built between 1842 and 1844, designed by architect H.R. Abraham from London, at a cost of £1,812 and 18 shillings and 9 pence. The church is constructed of brick with an ashlar facade and features a slate roof in the Norman style. The exterior has a gable front with heavy side buttresses and four stepped lights that have roll-moulds; the outer lights feature Doric capitals, while the center light has Corinthian capitals, along with a small rose window in the gable. The central arched door, which has a roll-mould, is slightly set back and flanked by corner shafts. The interior has not been inspected. This church is historically significant as it was the first building in Cheltenham to be constructed in the Anglo-Norman style, which became very popular during this period.
