Description

This is a terrace of four houses located on Ashford Road in Cheltenham. The houses date from the 18th century and are constructed of ashlar, which has been subsequently stuccoed. They have artificial slate roofs and stuccoed party-wall stacks with iron balconies.

The houses are two storeys high with a basement, and feature twelve first-floor windows (three per house). An incised band marks the first floor level. The original windows are mostly 6/6 sashes, with taller windows on the ground floor; those on the left-hand house have blind boxes. The basement windows are 8/8 sashes. All windows have plain reveals and sills. The entrances on the left-hand side of the terrace are accessed via three-panel doors, part-glazed and with fluted surrounds. Solid porches support pillars decorated with Greek key motifs and an entablature. The interior of the houses has not been inspected. A balcony to number 12 features a quatrefoil motif.
