Description
The boundary pier at No. 29, located at the junction with Ashford Road, dates from around 1826 to 1832. This tall structure is made of ashlar stone and features incised panels adorned with anthemion motifs. It has a frieze, cornice, and a moulded capping topped with an urn finial, standing approximately 2.5 meters high. Park Place was developed by 1832, and this pier is one of a pair, complementing the left end boundary pier at No. 29. It contributes significantly to the streetscape, especially alongside the corner pier at No. 6 Ashford Road.
