Description

These walls, railings, gate piers, gates, and lamp overthrow date from approximately 1820 to 1832. They form part of the boundary to number 19 and are a significant feature of the streetscape. The structure comprises pinkish-brown brick walls with ashlar copings, and cast-iron railings. The L-shaped boundary balustrade features a scrolled lozenge motif. A section of the balustrade abuts number 19. The pedestrian gate features arrowhead railings. Elsewhere, arrowhead railings are set between anthemion-capped standards rising from the walls, extending for approximately 5 meters to the gate piers. These piers are capped with scrolled lozenge designs and peaked caps, topped with urn finials, and feature a scrolled overthrow with a square lamp bracket. Central double gates are constructed with arrowhead bars, followed by a similar stretch of low wall and arrowhead railings.
