Description

This is a villa dating from approximately 1820 to 1850. It is constructed of stucco over brick, with a hipped slate roof and five tall stucco stacks, each with a cornice. The villa features iron balconies.

The villa is two storeys high, with a basement level, and has seven first-floor windows arranged in a 1:2:1:2:1 pattern. The outer window bays and the two-window bays project forward. Stucco detailing includes horizontal rustication to the ground floor, except where the bays project, with the ground floor windows set within drawn 'pediments'. The outer windows on the first floor are fitted with arcaded stucco balconies. The first floor windows are predominantly 6/6 sash windows with blind boxes, with the exception of the central bay, which features a 6-pane French window with a divided overlight, all with margin lights. The ground floor windows are mainly similar French windows and blind boxes; the outer windows are tripartite, round-arched windows with two 2/2 round-arched sashes and chamfered mullions, topped with a scalloped hood. The basement windows are 6/6 sashes.

A flight of roll-edged steps leads to a solid porch with Doric pilasters and an entablature, where a six-raised-and-fielded-panel double door with overlight is set. Returns have 6/6 sashes.

The interior was not inspected as part of the listing process.

Subsidiary features include individual iron balconies to the centre of the first floor and to the two-window bays, featuring bowed rods and circular details to the frieze.
