Description
Thoresby is a detached house, now converted into flats, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of rendered brick that has been painted and features a slate roof with rendered stacks. The building has a rectangular plan and is two storeys high, with an attic and basement. The symmetrical facade has five windows, each fitted with 2-pane sash windows that have moulded architraves and valences. All windows except the central first-floor window have keystones, and there are moulded brackets below the sills of all windows. The ground floor and central windows are adorned with moulded hoods supported by brackets. Pilasters are present on either side of the outer bays. Access to the building is via five steps leading up to an open-sided flat-roofed porch, which is supported by columns and features a moulded cornice, pulvinated frieze, and brackets. The porch contains a 19th-century fielded six-panel door at the rear, set within a round-headed surround. The gable ends have stacks with moulded cappings, and there are 20th-century skylights in the attic. The interior has not been inspected.
