Description
Garrondene is a villa, now divided into flats, built around 1820 to 1850 with later additions and alterations. It features stucco over brick and a hipped slate roof, with two stuccoed stacks at the left end and cast-iron balconies. The building has two storeys above a basement, with three first-floor windows and a two-storey entrance bay set back on the right, along with a single-storey range at the rear.
On the ground floor, there are tall round-arched windows with 2/2 sash frames and a 6-pane French window on the right. The first floor has 6/6 sash windows, all set within tooled architraves. The basement contains 1/1 sash windows. The entrance features a flight of renewed steps leading to double doors with six fielded panels and a fanlight, also framed by a tooled architrave. The wide eaves add to the building's character.
A notable two-storey feature includes balustrades on both the ground and first floors, with posts and a frieze in between, adorned with ornate panels. The single-storey range on the left has 1/1 sash windows, while the right return displays 6/6 and round-arched sashes, along with a first-floor band. The interior has not been inspected.
