Description
This pair of gate piers, located approximately 4 meters to the east of number 133, dates from around 1830 to 1834 and has been restored in the 1990s. The piers are made of rusticated ashlar and are square in shape, featuring fluted capitals and carved 'pineapple' finials. They are an important feature of the streetscape, contributing to the setting of number 133 and forming a cohesive group with another pair of gate piers located about 4 meters to the southwest and the corner pier, railings, and pier at the northeast boundary of number 133 on the Promenade.
