Description

These are a pair of gate piers dating from around 1820 to 1850, located at Number 47 (Keynsham Priors) on London Road in Cheltenham. The piers are made of rusticated ashlar and stand on plinths, topped with cornices and ball finials. They are an important feature of the streetscape and contribute to the overall setting of the area, as they are part of a notable group of gate piers that also includes those at Numbers 39 and 41 London Road.
