Description

Corner pier, railings, and pier at the north-east boundary of number 133 were built around 1830 to 1834, with later restorations to the corner pier. The corner pier is made of rusticated ashlar and is square in shape, featuring fluted capitals and a carved 'pineapple' finial. There are cast-iron spearhead railings extending for approximately 6 meters, along with a further square brick pier that has an ashlar capping. This structure is an important feature of the streetscape and contributes to the setting of number 133, as well as being part of a notable group of piers that includes a pair of gate piers located approximately 4 meters to the east and another pair approximately 4 meters to the southwest of number 133 on the Promenade.
