Description

Milford Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmhouse constructed from stone rubble with slate roofs. The main block features a double depth design with a hipped two-span slate roof and two slightly projecting stone stacks that have paired chimney shafts. At the rear right, there is a T-plan block with a paired stone chimney shaft on the ridge; the front part of this block may have been converted from a horse engine house and barn during the mid-19th century. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has deep eaves.

The front elevation has three bays, with a slightly projecting chimney stack on the left-hand bay that has paired shafts extending through the eaves. There is a gabled stone porch at the front, which features an arched doorway with a stone arch. To the right of the porch, there is a ground floor window, and above it, two first floor windows that are 12-pane sashes set under flat stone arches. The wing's front elevation is symmetrical, featuring a central single-storey canted bay that may have originally served as a horse engine house; this central bay has a blocked window, while the outer bays contain two-light casements with glazing bars. Additionally, there are four other windows that are 12-pane sashes with flat stone arches, along with some 20th-century windows located at the rear of the wing.
